Mr. Spunaugle has been Principal of Lincoln High School since 2011. Prior to his work as an administrator, he taught physical education and social sciences in grades 7-12. Mr. Spunaugle also coached football, wrestling, track, baseball, archery, and powerlifting in Iowa and Missouri. This is his 25th year working as an educator. Prior to his career as an educator, Mr. Spunaugle enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during his senior year of high school. He reported to Marine Corps basic training at San Diego, CA in 1988. Mr. Spunaugle was stationed in Tennessee, California, Korea, and Okinawa, Japan. He earned an Honorable Discharge from the Marine Corps in 1991.

Mr. Spunaugle was raised by his mom and dad in southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa. He lived in rural communities and his parents instilled solid values such as, the significance of Christian belief, the rewards of hard work, the importance of integrity, and good common sense. His parents were, and still are in many ways, the most important people in his life. Their upbringing helped him to succeed while going through Marine Corps basic training. That same background serves as a guide, along with his personal experiences, as he raises his three children alongside his wife of more than 23 years, Amy. Mrs. Spunaugle is in her 24th year as a high school math teacher. His oldest daughter Allison is a junior at the University of Missouri Kansas City majoring in Biology Pre-Med. His son Connor is a freshmen baseball player at State Fair Community College. His youngest daughter Callie Jo is a 9th grade student at Lincoln. She is involved in volleyball, softball, band, FBLA and NJHS.

When he is not at the school, Mr. Spunaugle enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, bicycling, and competitive archery. If you ever need anything, feel free to stop by and see him, email, or call.
